5 Kitchen Splash Back Designs Trending in 2014

Tuesday 1st September, 2015

1. Glass splashbacks

One of the most modern on-trend kitchen back splash designs is the glass variety. Providing a shiny, modern style for the room, there’s also a number of benefits to having glass splashbacks installed. They are very easy to clean which means you won’t spend hours scrubbing the stains off. They also don’t require any grouting like tiles do. This makes them much easier to install. They come in a wide variety of colours, with purple being one of the more popular options available.

2. LED Splashbacks
Another modern style of kitchen splash backs is the LED option. These are again created with glass, but they have the additional benefit of having an LED light fitted behind them. This provides a very dramatic style.

3. Tiles
Tiles have been in fashion for years and they show no sign of slowing down. There are literally hundreds of different types of tile kitchen back splash designs available. They can be a little more of a nightmare to fit and maintain than glass splashbacks, but they do have their advantages too.

4. Stainless steel
If you’re looking for the ultimate durable, modern kitchen splash backs, stainless steel is a good option. It’s very clean looking and it oozes sophistication. The only potential downside with this variety is the fact they will show up fingerprints and smudges quite easily.

5. Zenolite Splashbacks
Another leading splash back trend in 2014 is Zenolite. This durable material is easy to install and adds a nice bit of colour to the room. They are cost effective and they can be fitted against most types of wall finishes. The only thing to take into account with this type of splash back is the fact it shouldn’t be used behind a hob.

These are the five leading trends in modern splash back designs. What you need to think about before you choose the right material for your home is your budget and the pros and cons of each one. Apart from the stainless steel option, the other splashback trends come in a wide range of colours. No matter what the current theme of your kitchen, you should easily be able to find a splashback to suit it. Before you make your choice, try to research as much as possible about the advantages and disadvantages of each one. It’s also a good idea to look at online reviews from other consumers. They will be able to tell you their own experiences with each type. Once you know all of the advantages and disadvantages, it will help you to make a much more informed decision.
